History: The Mexican National League was set up by Organized Baseball to try to thwart Jorge Pascual's outlaw Mexican League, which was trying to entice major league players with higher salaries. Although the league withdrew from OB in late May, there was an 11-game post-season series played between The Juarez Indios and the Chihuahua Dorados, won by Juarez. El Paso was the sole U.S. entry in the league.

History: Named for the Purity Oil Company, the Purity 99 represented Calgary, Alberta, in Canada's Big Four League. The most famous player in the club's history was an outfielder named Glen Gorgeous Gorbous, a local kid who went on to play for the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies, and who later at an exhibition with the Omaha Cardinals threw a baseball 445 feet and 10 inches, a Guinness World Record that still stands to this day.

History: Owned by Effa Manley––the first woman inducted into Cooperstown––and led by star outfielder Larry Doby, the '46 Eagles won the Negro World Series, defeating the Kansas City Monarchs in seven games. The following season, Doby would join the Cleveland Indians and break the American League color barrier three months after Jackie Robinson would break the Major League color barrier.

History: The Cuban League not only fielded great Cuban players. The League was also a haven for American Negro Leaguers who could extend their seasons into the winter and who did not encounter the racial bias they met back home. Major Leaguers also played in the Cuban League in the off-season to hone their skills and keep in shape. This jersey is the one worn by the 1969 national team.
